Membership & Drop-Ins

The VDRC is open for anyone to join. We believe good horse people come from a variety of backgrounds and diversity keeps a club fresh and healthy!

Members and drop-ins are expected to have their horses vaccinated prior to being on the grounds, and are required to have their horses vaccinated to attend shows & clinics.

Early bird memberships are only available until March 31st 2024. Your membership to the VDRC helps us continually improve the facility, offer clinics, put on shows and ensure there is a place for horse sport in the Okanagan valley well into the future.

Our website’s members only section includes minutes from meetings and other items designated to members only. 

Membership entitles you to use of the riding rings from April until November as well as discounts on Club activities and at local participating businesses. Check out the Friends of the VDRC section for great savings at local businesses. 

Note that HCBC membership is required for everyone participating in any and all equestrian activities at the VDRC.

2024 VDRC Membership Fees

Intown Membership

Intown Membership cost overview: Total price = base price + volunteer fee.

Base price is a required immediate payment, and there are two options for the volunteer fee, either by completing 6 volunteer hours OR an immediate payment.

The VDRC encourages and is appreciative of members willing to volunteer their time to help maintain and progress our riding club. As a registered Non Profit Society under the Societies Acot of British Columbia, and with our groundskeeper as the only permanent annual employee who keeps our grounds beautiful and functional, other operations of the riding club are largely reliant on your volunteering efforts! Your volunteer hours will be recorded and kept track of to fulfil your volunteer requirement. See our Volunteers page.

If you are not interested in volunteering, the second option is an immediate payment, which the respective volunteer fee price for your membership type will be payed immediately with your membership base fee.  

Notice: if you don’t complete your volunteer hours, you will be charged for the volunteer fee price at the end of the season.

Out-of-town Membership

Do you live more than 50km from 8408 Aberdeen Road in Coldstream? If you do, then not only are you eligible for reduced rates, but you are exempt from volunteer hours.  How do you know if you are ‘out of town’? Allow Google Maps to be the judge.  50km is approximately Grindrod to the north, Rutland to the south, Falkland to the west and the eastern part of Cherryville to the east.  A image from Google Maps with your home address to the VDRC must be submitted with your membership application in order to receive your ‘out of town’ membership.
